If you are British or settled in the UK, you can apply for your spouse, civil partner or unmarried partner to join you in the UK, under Appendix FM rules.

This route is designed for your partner or child to join and reside with you in the UK. Your partner can have the right to take up employment, and eventually qualifying to settle in the UK on the basis of your relationship.

Can I bring my child or partner?

The dependant visa route allows your partner or child to join you in the UK given you meet the suitability and eligibility requirements.

Can I bring my fiancé?

If you are engaged with a British or settled person, you may be able to qualify for a fiancé visa. This will allow you to apply for a partner visa for extension after you marry from within the UK, providing you are able to satisfy all the requirements

How long does a spouse visa last?

A dependant Visa will allow your spouse to stay initially for two and a half years. After this time, they must apply for an extension which can further their stay for another two and a half years. After the holder has been in the UK for five years they can apply for settlement.
